MATERIALS: I didn't take any paper or folders which was just as well because nobody dreams of working on A2 there. There aren't really any rules but people work on A4 or A3 generally. And its really easy to get materials there although obviously its cheaper to bring your own stuff. I just took a seclection of tools and markers and a skethcbook.
HOUSEHOLD THINGS: Some flats have kettles, some don't. I should have mentioned earlier though that it is possible to get household things cheaply in second hand shops or the salvation army shops, which are called 'Fretex'. I got my pots and pans and bedding that way.
DEPOSIT PAYMENT: I don't know if you can pay the deposit by visa - you pay it at the post office so I think it may be possible, or you could go to an ATM with the visa card.
GRANT: I think the erasmus grant was through in September or October. There is sometimes a second allocation of money in the late spring too, but I still haven't seen it!
