I did this course as a compulsory equivalent to Ron Thomson's MOSS4 course in Glasgow. I am yet to see how similar the courses actually are. Intro to FEM is not easy, but it is a fmailiar case of putting the head down and cramming in what is required to pass. Some of teh course may be familiar, however the approach being it taught is slightly different to Dr. Thomson's. The course does relate quite well to practical assignments that could be applied in a PDE project. I found the lecturer Zhiang Zhilang very enthusiastic and helpful, plus he taught the course in English which was a plus. The class was really small and made up of generally senior mechanical engineering students, unsurprisingly. There are roughly 8 assignments, a certain percentage of which must be completed to gain entry to the exam. The exam is one 5 hour paper - you can take in sarnies and a drink though! Just do the assignments, read the notes a lot and everything should be fine.

Yep, the lecturer is really nice, but afraid the lectures are now in Norwegian....Not very easy to follow! But hopefully it will all come together in a similar manner to MOSS3!!
