This is an open brief project. Run very much like PD7 in my experience, the course is basically a filler for people such as exchange students, someone needing to fill up the timetable, or for someone with a specific idea for a project which they would like to pursue. In discussion with tutors, you set your own scope, goal and deliverables and are expected to keep to your project plan - its another good exercise in self management. I chose to continue my PD7 project, hence making it a year-long affair not unlike 4th year of Glasgow. Equally, one might choose something new for the very reason that we would not do so in Glasgow. Feedback as arranged with you and your supervising tutor(s) throughout the course, assessment as a presentation and some form of agreed deliverables.
I used this course to explore learning areas that were of particular interest to me, choosing to integrate the project with theory learnt from attending lectures from the human-machine interaction course. I was also able to use the project as a subject for Applied Modelling, work from the project thus forming deliverables for Applied Modelling and Design Project.
